Marie-Jean Meurs is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM), and a member of the LATECE laboratory. Her research goal is to create and apply elegant mathematical algorithms to knowledge discovery problems. Among her fields of interest are machine learning, big data mining, natural language processing, semantic web, biocuration, and combinatorial optimization.
As a member of the Centre for Structural and Functional Genomics, Concordia University, she applies her research to genomics problems, and develops tools that support biocurators. She is also an Affiliate Assistant Professor with the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Concordia University.
